It’s a privilege to have the singer-songwriter Bethan Ruth performing again at Storiel after her amazing performance on the 8th of February 2025. It’s been a busy year for Osgled, with her performances across Wales establishing her as a talent to watch. This intimate concert will be a chance to hear her recent EP Tes Yr Haul, which has received outstanding praise from the press.

You can expect a mix of experimental sounds, ethereal layers, and atmospheric waves with an electronic vibe in an Osgled concert. Bethan’s charming and striking voice is an out-of-this-world experience as she harmonises with samples from her grandmother’s records. For anyone who appreciates music that touches the soul and challenges the senses, this is a concert not to be missed.

Sheepfolds of the Carneddau

There are over 3,000 sheepfolds across north west Wales, but only around 100 of these are the very large, communal, folds that farmers have used to sort the flocks of sheep that graze on the mountains over the summer. This talk looks at how these large folds work, when, why and where they were built and how they fit into the history and culture of welsh hill farming - and also how they are linked to an island off Croatia. Many of them are now falling into disrepair but we will finish the talk by seeing how some are still used today, continuing the pattern and rhythm of gathering sheep from the hills that goes back over 300 years
