This ambitious project showcases her signature faux-marble collage technique through large-scale 2D works and a striking immersive floor installation that spans the gallery.  Drawing inspiration from a research journey to St Margaret’s Church in Bodelwyddan – known as “The Marble Church” – Hughes explores themes of material illusion, architectural grandeur, and the tension between surface and substance. The exhibition is accompanied by a series of workshops and talks that invite audiences into the tactile, process driven world of her practice. Floored//Flawed is a celebration of ersatz beauty and the transformative potential of handmade materials, supported by Arts Council Wales.
