Whilst working in the studio this year, Pete Jones reflects on the places and experiences that have been important to and have influenced the work he has produced over the years. Having begun, writing down recollections, thoughts and short “verses” (which developed organically during the creative process), all of which weave into his pictorial narrative
Pondering universal themes such as childhood and family, Pete Jones also explores his feelings in response to his own life experience, particularly his previous work life, that of a learning disability nurse within a long-stay institution. He also explores the potential impact on being “Welsh” may have had on his work. The book features a range of work from 1978 through to the present. And this talk will delve into works that have since become part of private and national collections. This talk will be a comprehensive opportunity to discuss the artist’s work.
