Fifteen works from STORIEL’s art collection are presented to show how different artists have responded to their subject. Whilst inviting the onlooker to look a little closer at each, their similarities or differences, elements to consider are offered to help analyse and discover more about the artist’s methods and influences in creating the art work you see. Mainly works in oil there are also drawings in ink, graphite and wax crayon. The works range from portraits from 1800’s to 1970’s and landscapes from 1920’s to 2006. Amongst these are works by Frank Brangwyn, John Piper, Kyffin Williams, Brenda Chamberlain, Susan Adams, Dan Llywelyn Hall and others.

STORIEL is developing a series of ‘looking at …’  leaflets for use by schools by referencing items in the collections.
