Born in Scotland and raised on the Wirral, Stuart Neesham initially studied at Chester Art School before venturing to South Wales to study at Newport College of Art. In 1972, Stuart followed his future wife Lois Morris to Bangor. Lois had recently received a contract extension as part of a University of Wales project working as a designer and Illustrator for a Welsh Language project for booklets aimed at secondary education in Welsh-medium Schools.

The Neeshams established the Enfys design company in 1972, purchasing screen-printing equipment from Colwyn Bay photographer John Murgatoyd. They initially set up Enfys in the old bakery in Rachub, Bethesda before moving to new premises in a former butcher in Glanadda on Caernarfon Road in Bangor.

This exhibition brings together some of the legendary posters and artwork created by Stuart and Lois Neesham from the Enfys workshop which give an insight into the music scene in Bangor in the 1970’s.
