John Wickens (1864-1936), was a member of the Royal Photographic Society and owner of both the Retina Studio and the Photographic Studio at Bangor. He took many photographs that reflect the everyday lives of local people as well as of local landscapes. He was also commissioned to take a number of official photographs and portraits of local dignitaries. A small selection from the Gwynedd Archive Service photographic collection.

This year the unique and innovative part time community Fine Art Programme at Bangor University (1998-2022) is closing. Artwork by 25 tutors who have taught at all levels including BA and MA is gathered together for this celebratory farewell exhibition.
