Bangor celebrates 150 years of football in the city in 2026. Much history has been made during that time, including famous victories and memorable runs in both domestic and European competitions. This exhibition showcases artefacts and photographs from across the years, telling the story of football in Bangor through some of the Club's greatest triumphs and toughest setbacks. From unforgettable goals, Welsh Cups and league titles to memorable nights against some of Europe’s biggest giants, this city has seen it all.

Black History in Colour Project

North Wales Regional Equality Network’s (NWREN) Black History in Colour Project in collaboration with local schools creatively explored and celebrate the lesser-known stories of Black people who have lived in our local communities. This initiative built on a previous project by the Conwy Archives, which imaginatively reinterpreted the history of the African Institute of Colwyn Bay.

Michal Iwanowski

In 2008, Cardiff-based, Polish-born artist, Michal Iwanowski, came across graffiti near his home that read ‘Go Home, Polish’. Ten years later, amidst the backdrop of Brexit and a divided Europe, he undertook a gruelling 1900km journey on foot between Wales and his home village of Mokrzeszów in Poland. His aim was to explore and understand the notion of ‘home’. The journey took 105 days to complete, throughout which he posted a diary of his experiences and encounters on Instagram.

Paul Peter Piech (1920-1996) was an American artist, printmaker and publisher who lived and worked in Wales. A prolific artist who is known for his linocuts and woodcuts, he advocated tirelessly for social justice.

Open Art 2026

The Open Art is an annual exhibition open to artists and students aged 16 and over who live or work in Wales. To celebrate Storiel turning ten years old in 2026 the exhibition will be held in the main gallery this year, with a prize of £1000 for the winner of the Selector's Prize.

Gareth Griffith, a multimedia artist working in 2 and 3D from Gwynedd won the Gold Medal for Fine Art at the 2025 Wrexham National Eisteddfod. Here, you can enjoy over twenty of his works, as it was shown at the Eisteddfod in August.
