A mixture of catchy lo-fi pop and future anthems, Chwaer Fawr is a collection of songs that explores the tension between innocence and responsibility, between personal vulnerability and silent resistance.
To celebrate half a century of horror films in the Welsh language, Storiel is pleased to collaborate with Pontio, Abertoir Film Festival, and Matchbox Cine to present Eryri Arswydus, a celebration of horror films created by the Welsh Film Board and directed by Wil Aaron.

As a preview for the series of events at Storiel curated by photographer and film director Clare Marie Bailey, there will be an opportunity to hear about her collaboration with the innovative singer Gwenno, who has been nominated for a Mercury music prize for her third album Tressor (2022) and has won a Music Wales Award and recieved widespread acclaim for her groundbreaking albums on Peski and Heavenly labels.
To coincide with Bert Isaac's exhibition, a unique performance will take place in Storiel, the Museaum of Gwynedd on the 20th of September at 2pm in the company of three of the most exciting musicians in the Welsh Jazz scene, Museum. This trio will include bassist Huw Vaughan Williams, drummer Gruff Elidr Owen, and trumpeter Emyr Penry Dance, who will also contribute new poetry to the concert . “Impressions of the Quarry” a jazz response to the retrospect of Bert Isaac .
In response to Bert Isaac's exhibition at Storiel (05.07.2025 – 29.09.2025) a series of 4 talks curated by Dr. Dafydd Roberts to explore the history of quarrying communities through painted images and literature by various artists. There will be an opportunity to elaborate on how fine arts and literature represented the quarrying communities of Gwynedd. Each contributor will examine and detail fine art materials for historians to create a picture of the quarrying communities during that period.
Join artist Menai for a creative session inspired by Storiel's collection. In this 2.5 hour workshop, we'll explore mark making techniques using watercolour inks and pastels, and develop a unique collage composition. Menai will guide you through experimenting with textures and tones to help you create your own original artwork
Participants will be using different media to create an image by making rubbings with wax crayons and adding colour. Experimenting with batik and wax resist.
